Ph.D. position at CEA Saclay
The Irfu/SPP division at CEA Saclay is seeking for an outstanding Ph.D. candidate to work within the neutrino group on the WA105 project at CERN as part of the future Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) to be constructed in USA. The Ph.D. contract has a duration of 3 years. The successful candidate is expected to contribute actively to the study of the performance of the 3m3 Double phase Liquid Argon (DLAr) time projection chamber prototype as well as on the construction and commissioning of the 300t WA105 demonstrator. He/she will have the opportunity to work on the development of MPGDs for cryogenic applications, in collaboration with the Irfu/SEDI detector division in Saclay. The Ph.D. student will also perform high-resolution calorimetric response studies as well as hadron interaction physics in a test beam environment at CERN, thus contributing in a unique way to the future DUNE neutrino physics program that will be carried out with large-scale (10kt) LAr detectors.
